Maxim Lebedev was born in Novsobirsk, Russia. He spent his childhood growing up in Russia, Germany, and the United States. International baccalaureate diploma in high school in Salt Lake City, Utah, with concentration in history, music and fine arts. He received a Bachelor of Arts in History from Boston University. After doing a workshop at the New York Film Academy and freelance work as camera assistant and as director of photography on a feature he went on to study film directing at the German Film and Television Academy Berlin (dffb) taking master classes from filmmakers including Béla Tarr, Claire Denis, Andrew Bujalski, and many others. He had several film shorts premiered at European film festivals. 

I have thorough knowledge of Pre-, principle and post-film production, - this included story-boarding scenes, blocking scenes, and directing actors, as well as production planning and contract negotiation; still photography experience with camera systems including Nikon, Mamiya and Hasselblad cameras; digital and film cameras including 16mm, 35mm, Sony, Arri Alexa, and RED digital camera systems as well as operation of several types of dollies + jib arms. Software knowledge and use of editing software including Avid Media Composer and Adobe Premiere Pro; color correction software including Redcine and Davinci, and sound acquisition equipment and sound editing software Avid Pro Tools and Sonar X3 Producer.
